Returning head coach the Ireland coach has included captain Doris in his Ireland team for the autumn matches, but lock McCarthy has been excluded.
The captain, absent from play since having shoulder surgery in the start of May, has come back to provincial training, but it remains unclear if he will be fit to play against New Zealand in Chicago on November 1.
Second row Joe McCarthy, on the other hand, did not make the cut after not recovering from the foot injury suffered during the first Lions Test against Australia in the summer.
Ulster forward Cormac Izuchukwu and Munster winger Nash also miss out due to injury, while number 15 Hugo Keenan had already been ruled out after undergoing hip surgery following the Lions tour.
Leinster forward McCarthy - the brother of Joe - is the only new player in the 34-man group, however Irish rugby authorities states uncapped Munster pair Edogbo and Gleeson and previously capped Connacht winger Shayne Bolton will head to Chicago as "reserves".
Following playing the New Zealand at Soldier Field in a repeat of their 2016 meeting, Ireland will play Japan, Australia and world title holders South Africa in the Irish capital.
"It's an exciting group to the panel and it's a chance for the veteran players and for the newcomers on the summer tour to the Lelos and the Lobos," said Farrell, who returns to Ireland duty after taking a sabbatical to lead the British and Irish Lions to Australia.
In a largely experienced squad, Leinster's Prendergast and the southern club's Crowley will again vie for the first-choice number 10 spot. The number 10 jersey is remains available, as Prendergast and Crowley set to play against each other for the first occasion in Saturday's United Rugby Championship match at Croke Park.
Frawley is the third fly-half chosen as Farrell opting against calling up Leinster's Byrne.
At number 9, the Ireland boss has selected British and Irish Lion Jamison Gibson-Park and Casey, who captained Ireland to the summer international victories over Georgia and Portugal. Additionally, there is a return for Connacht's Blade, chosen to club-mate Murphy.
Robbie Henshaw, Aki, Ringrose and Stuart McCloskey represent an veteran group of midfield choices. Osborne is another option in the centres, though the youngster is also a leading candidate to cover for Keenan at number 15.
Wingers Lowe, Mack Hansen, O'Brien and Stockdale are included. O'Brien shone on his national team debut over the summer with a brace each in the victories over the Lelos and Portugal.
McCarthy is the only fresh addition in the Ireland forwards. The front rower has been in two of his province's three league games this season and featured in the second string's loss by the English in the English city previously.
The 22-year-old was included in interim boss O'Connell's summer squad, yet did not receive a international appearance.
Southern province lock Ahern, who earned his debut appearances in those Tests, is retained, while veteran Ulster second row Iain Henderson is back after sitting out the summer matches.
Jack Conan, who played in all three Lions Tests during the tour, is set to deputise for Doris should the captain does not regain full fitness in time to face New Zealand.
The national team will assemble in Dublin on the start of the week before flying to the US on the following day.
